Shri Maheshwar Saireddy, widely known as Mahesh, is an accomplished leader in global finance whose career reflects deep expertise in capital markets and financial strategy. He earned his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and later earned his MBA in Finance and Computers from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in 2001, combining strong analytical training with global business acumen.
Shri Mahesh began his professional career in investment banking and served as Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers before joining Goldman Sachs in 2008 as a Vice President. In recognition of his leadership and contributions, he was named Managing Director in 2010 and elected Partner in 2016, one of the most distinguished positions within the firm.
Over the course of his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Shri Mahesh has held several key leadership roles, including Head of US Mortgage Trading, Head of US Mortgage and Structured Products, and subsequently Global Head of the Mortgage and Structured Products businesses. He currently serves as Global Co-Head of the Capital Solutions Group within the firm’s Global Banking & Markets division.
In this capacity, he plays an important role in shaping strategy and capital solutions for clients worldwide. He is a member of the firm’s Management Committee, the Global Banking & Markets Private Operating Committee, and also serves as Co-Chair of the Firmwide Capital Committee.
Beyond his professional achievements, Shri Mahesh is actively engaged in philanthropic and community initiatives. He serves as Co-Chair of Youth INC, an organisation dedicated to strengthening youth-serving nonprofits in New York City, and is a member of the Executive Board of Directors of Pratham USA, which focuses on expanding educational opportunities for children in India.
In recognition of his distinguished achievements in global finance, his leadership at one of the world’s leading financial institutions, and his commitment to social impact and education, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras proudly confers upon Shri Maheshwar Saireddy the Distinguished Alumni Award for the year 2026.
