The Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), IIT Madras, is launching a 6-month online certificate course on eMobility and Electric Vehicle Engineering for Industry Professionals. The course is conceptualized to deliver a foundational understanding of eMobility and EVs, through a mix of academic excellence (courtesy IIT Madras) and industry insights (Chennai’s famed automotive industrial hub).

Why this Course?

With a rapid switch in the focus of the automobile industry, from ICE Vehicles to Electric Vehicles, there is a huge requirement for skilled human resources who have a sound knowledge of Electric Vehicles, and their constituents and ecosystems. The current requirement of the industry and among academicians can only be fulfilled by providing a source of learning in the EV domain. This course is specifically designed to make candidates aware about the Electric Vehicle and its technology, and to act as a bridge between Industry and Academia.

Intended Audience:

Automotive Engineers (in Original Equipment Manufacturers, Component Suppliers, Service Providers, Aftermarket Dealerships), and for those intending to upskill themselves
in the eMobility domain.

Eligibility criteria

Bachelor’s degree in an allied Engineering or Science domain (BTech/BE/BSc, etc.).

Module-3: Vehicle Dynamics and Control

Module-5: Power Electronics and Motors
Module-6: Battery Technology
Module-7: Materials for eMobility
Module-8: Thermal Management for Electric Vehicles
Module-9: Electromagnetic Compatibility for Electric Vehicles

Course Mode: ONLINE (Recorded videos and live sessions)120 hours of recorded online instruction and 40 hours of online live interaction with the experts.

The course is structured in the following manner:

1. Participants need to watch around 6 hours of video content (not more than 3 hours in a particular module) every week. They will be supported by well-trained TAs.

      2. A live interaction session would be scheduled every Saturday with the corresponding faculty to discuss the module content and clarify queries. The duration of this session would be 1 hour.
