SBI General Insurance has joined forces with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the former informed in a press statement on Monday. The collaboration aims to usher in a groundbreaking Thermal Therapy Device, poised to revolutionise the landscape of breast cancer treatment, especially in advanced stages, the statement read.
Spearheading this CSR initiative, SBI General Insurance is set to catalyse positive change within the healthcare industry. The collaborative technology developed at IIT Madras seeks to offer an indigenous and cost-effective solution tailored for advanced-stage breast cancer patients. The focal point of the Thermal Therapy Device is to deliver hyperthermia as an adjuvant therapy, enhancing the efficacy of radio and chemotherapy treatments.
