Indian Institute of Technology Madras’ (IIT Madras) launches an industry-oriented Web-Enabled MTech on E-Mobility (WEMEM) for Working Professionals. This degree program is being offered through IIT Madras’ Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) and coordinated by the Department of Engineering Design, IIT Madras.
Here is an unique opportunity for working professionals to pursue an MTech Degree at IIT Madras in the E-Mobility domain
– WEMEM is structured to offer the appropriate flexibility to Working Professionals while maintaining the required academic rigor of a degree program from IITM.
– Participants need to complete 190 academic credits to earn a Master’s degree.
– These include 105 credits of course work (includes theory and lab courses along with a mini project) and 85 credits of project work.
– This program offers an Intermediate exit in the form of a Post Graduate Diploma in E-Mobility after completion of 6 Core courses (54 Credits), 3 Electives (27 Credits) and the Mini Project (12 Credits) totaling 93 Credits.
There is no limit on the number of students who will be admitted to this program. All those who qualify and become eligible in the selection test can join the program.
Need for an MTech in Emobility:
– The transportation sector is undergoing a paradigm transition towards a Sustainable future, for which E-Mobility is an important enabler.
– To ensure good quantity and quality of well-trained manpower to drive this transition, it is imperative that working professionals undergo skilling in the domain of e-Mobility
Eligibility:
– Completed a BTech/BE in any engineering discipline with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 (out of 10) or 60% and
– Minimum 2 years of work experience
Selection Criteria:
– Computer-based proctored in-person written test on fundamental Mathematics and Physics Principles.

– Applicants would be provided with recorded videos and sample questions to help them prepare for this selection test.
