Center for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) of IITM coordinates all non-campus academic & outreach activities from IIT Madras. Through various non-campus programs, IITM CODE facilitates the continuing education initiatives of the Institute.
CODE IITM has been running the Certificate Program on eMobility (CPoeM) since 2022. As a follow-on program based on industry demand, a 3-month deep diving course in Motors and Controllers was launched by CODE IITM. The first cohort of this course experienced an enthusiastic reception from participants which includes professionals from Caterpillar, John Deere, Tata Elxsi. Cohort 2 will start on the 1st of November 2024 and registration is open now.
About course
This course seeks to demystify the “Multi-physics” of the motor and make the underlying ideas accessible. Spanning electromagnetic, thermal, hardware design and control algorithms, this course bridges the gap between academic theory and industry practice. The learners will be empowered to develop motors for vehicles of their choice through a specially curated software tool for design and simulation.
