Dr MUKESH BATRA, Founder-Chairman
LCEH, FSRH (MED) P (LOND), MDH (USA), FBIH (UK)
Padma Shri recipient, Dr Mukesh Batra, a homeopath of international repute, is a second-generation homeopath, who has revolutionised homeopathy across the world.
A teacher, artist, writer, author and visionary, Dr Batra has not only deftly combined professional excellence and personal achievement with social commitment and contribution, he has also single-handedly pioneered modern homeopathy and established a highly regarded wellness empire, extending the medical benefits of this safe and sure medical system — by way of path-breaking commercial and benevolent initiatives.
When Dr Batra entered the medical profession, 40 years ago, homeopathy was regarded as an ‘ancient’ art; perhaps, a little better than faith healing. Early to recognise that homeopathy was the medicine of the future, Dr Batra standardised and professionalised homeopathy. In so doing, he placed it on par with conventional medicine — through the use of technology with a scientific connotation.
That homeopathy is today viewed as a modern, progressive, efficient and effective medical option is testimony of Dr Batra’s path-breaking endeavours, clinical acumen, entrepreneurial wisdom, vision, values and courage.
Dr Batra’s patient-profile is a veritable roll-call: from heads of state, like the President and Prime Minister of Mauritius, Prime Minister of India, chief ministers, governors, cabinet ministers, top industrialists, leading artists, film stars and musicians… to the proletariat.
Dr Batra has co-produced and anchored India’s first-ever health show, ‘The Positive Health Show,’ with UTV for Zee TV. The show was telecast by Zee in many countries. In addition, Dr Batra has chaired ‘Live Dial-In Shows’ with Zee TV for Europe. A prolific writer and columnist, Dr Batra has also authored several books on homeopathy, including his newest bestseller, Healing with Homeopathy (2011).
A philanthropist, Dr Batra established Dr Batras’ Positive Health Foundation in 2001 — to help the deprived and the underprivileged. It is bringing about a profound change to the lives of street children, orphans, the handicapped and the elderly. Each Dr Batra’s Clinic adopts orphanages, old-age homes, animal shelters, and provides life-long free treatment to the inmates. The Foundation also honours specially-abled individuals, every year, for beating all odds and leading normal, healthy lives.
Dr Batra, notwithstanding his hectic schedule, takes time off to fulfil his creative interests. He’s an avid photographer, amateur singer, animal lover, social worker, a patron of the theatre and the arts. His recent stint with singing has also been much appreciated, thanks to his soulful rendering of old film melodies and ghazals for a social cause.
It can truly be said of him that his is a life very well lived, for a man very well loved.
