Mr. Naveen Tahilyani is an Alumnus of two of India’s prestigious educational institutions – the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Naveen graduated in the top decile of his class and has had an illustrious career, presently serving as MD & CEO of Tata AIA Life Insurance
Post his Masters’ in Business Administration, Naveen joined McKinsey & Co where he was a Senior Partner and Head of the Financial Institutions Group, overseeing India and SE Asia. He led the recruitment efforts for the India office for more than 5 years and was a member of the Global Partner Election Committee. At McKinsey, Naveen worked with some of the largest public, private and foreign financial services institutions.
Naveen’s journey with Tata AIA commenced in 2015 when he joined the Organization as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer. Under his stewardship, Tata AIA has scripted profitable growth by nurturing a performance-oriented culture and driving a consumer centric business model.
Tata AIA is the only non-bank promoted company in the top 3 (on Individual Weighted New Business Premium (IWNBP)) in the industry today. The Company’s IWNBP grew at CAGR of 53% (FY15 – FY23) versus the overall industry average of 12%. Tata AIA is the undisputed market leader in retail protection with a private sector market share in retail sum assured (quantum of protection provided) in excess of 27%.
Tata AIA is ranked #1 on 13th month persistency, established a credible Claims Settlement Ratio of more than 99% and has implemented a Dynamic Net Promoter Score [NPS], which is now a beacon for measuring consumer advocacy and satisfaction within the Company. Customer NPS is over 65 and has climbed steadily over the last few years. The company has been recognized as Kincentric Best Employer for 6 years in a row with industry best employee engagement score of 91 and has also earned the distinction of being certified as A Great Place to Work.
Apart from being actively involved as the non-ex-officio member of the governing council at the Insurance Information Bureau of India, Naveen has been a member of several committees set up the Regulator including the Regulatory Review Committee which was tasked by the IRDAI to suggest comprehensive changes to the entire regulatory framework of the industry.
