Jainesh “Jay” Mehta, Director, Board of Directors, Mehta Family Foundation

Jay is a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in mechanical engineering. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Rice University. After graduation, he started his career in the oil and gas service industry by founding Case Services.

Under his leadership, Case Services became an industry leader in the petroleum production and automation sector. His products monitor the operation of almost all of the producing on-shore oil wells in the United States. The company was later purchased by Weatherford International, where Jay served as product line vice-president for four years.

As a Director at the Foundation, he is involved in supporting the multiple education initiatives of the Foundation. He is particularly involved in supporting and advising “MANAV SADHNA”, a Mahatma Gandhi Ashram institution in Ahmadabad, India. The institute addresses the educational, spiritual, lodging and boarding needs of orphaned and underprivileged children. He also serves on the Board of Pratham Houston, an international organization dedicated to the largest educational movement in India.

Jay is a Director at JAINA, a national umbrella organization for Jain Centers across the country. He served on the Board responsible for organizing a convention at George Brown Convention Center in Houston attended by over 4000 people. Jay has also served as a Sunday school teacher at Jain Center of Houston for 7+ years, where he was instrumental in starting up a successful education program for college students and young professionals.

Jay serves on the Engineering Leadership Board at the University of Houston Cullen School Of Engineering. He is also heavily involved in funding leading-edge cancer research, as well as integrative medical treatment.

Jay lives in Houston with his wife and two children.
