In a ceremony held at IIT Madras to mark India’s 75th Independence Day, Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras hoisted the National Flag & addressed the audience. A parade & pipping ceremony were also held. Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi also mentioned “In this the seventy-fifth year of our independence, let us recall the great sacrifices of countless Indians, sung and unsung, which have earned us our precious freedom, and let us pledge to dedicate ourselves to excel in our roles at the Institute as our tribute to these great souls. This will enable IIT Madras to play its role in the upliftment of many of our citizens who are still deprived of the resources to hone their talents and play their rightful roles in the rebuilding of this great and ancient land. This will also enable us to make a mark for ourselves as providers of solutions to the technical challenges facing the country today in its quest for Atmanirbharta.”
