Multiple entries and exit options for flexibility:
The BSc Program is offered in three different stages – Foundational Level, Diploma Level and Degree Level. In line with the NEP(National Education Policy), the course offers multiple entries and exit points. At each stage, students will have the freedom to exit from the program and receive a Certificate, Diploma or a Degree, respectively, from IIT Madras. Based on the eligibility, interested candidates will have to fill out a form and pay a nominal fee of Rs. 3,000 for the qualifier exam.
Simplified qualifier process for admission:
Learners will get access to the 4 weeks of the course content of 4 subjects (Mathematics, English, Statistics and Computational Thinking). These students will go through the course lectures online, submit online assignments and write an in-person qualifier exam at the end of 4 weeks. In contrast to the typical admission processes of IITs which are constrained due to the limited number of in-campus seats, in this programme all students who clear [(with an overall score of 50% (based on the categories)] the qualifier exam will be eligible to register for the foundational program. Since this program is offered in an online medium, students have the flexibility of self-paced learning which is beneficial for working professionals.
Tailor-made for the era: Hybrid model on par with on-campus degree
The courses are delivered through a comprehensive learning delivery model that competes with an in-classroom learning experience. It has a state-of-the-art online portal and learners from even remote parts of India joined in this program. The courses include lecture videos that explain the concept, followed by lecture-based activity questions, a practice assignment, and a graded assignment that reinforces problem-solving skills. There are live sessions with course instructors where questions from the learners are answered for every subject.
Through the courses, the students would build fundamental knowledge and gain industry-relevant cutting edge skills required for a career in Programming and Data Science. The program hones students’ skills in managing data, visualizing patterns to gain managerial insights, model uncertainties and building models that assist in producing forecasts to make effective business decisions.
