Chandran Sankaran [1983/BT/EE], Founder & CEO, Zyme Solutions

Chandran Sankaran is Founder and CEO of Zyme Solutions, the leading global platform for channel sales visibility and intelligence. The company is headquartered in the San Francisco area, with offices in Bangalore and the UK. Prior to Zyme, he was CEO of Closedloop Solutions, an enterprise software company that he founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1999. Closedloop was acquired by Lawson Software (NASDAQ: LWSN) in October 2003.

Prior to Closedloop, Chandran was the Vice President and head of the high-tech markets business unit of i2, the market leader in supply chain management software. He was previously with McKinsey and Company as a senior consultant serving the executive teams of major high-tech corporations. He has also held engineering and management positions with Hewlett-Packard Company.

Chandran has an MS in Computer Science from Yale University, and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Madras.

At IIT, Chandran (or Sarat Chandran, as his full name was recorded then) was recipient of the Governor’s Medal in 1983, awarded for all-round achievement to one graduating student each year. His graduating project work on computer recognition of speech was presented at an IEEE conference on Signal Processing in 1984. He was a key figure in the institute theatre and music scene, and was captain of the IIT swim team.

Chandran currently lives in Bangalore, with his wife and two children. He is an avid squash player, and an active supporter of theatre. You may also find him on Saturday afternoons playing the guitar and singing at a local café.
