We as a family have a very strong association with IIT Madras. Four of us –my Brother in law ( 1968-72 B Tech ) ,my sister ( PHD 1979-83) ,my son ( B Tech 2007-11) & myself ( B Tech 1972-77) have gained so much from the Institute in terms of values, knowledge, friends & fond memories –so it was always on cards that the family will endeavour to pay back to the institute in our own way. But the sudden death of my 23 year old son last year made us act with greater urgency. So this is the second year of a four year commitment started in November last year. We will feel truly satisfied when we complete the contribution in 2015 as per plan & thereon there will be a student in each year of the four year B Tech program benefiting from the “Sriram Srinivasan Scholarship” in perpetuity.
