Mr. Anand Kripalu is the Global CEO and managing director of the Blackstone backed EPL Ltd. He is a veteran of the consumer industry, with nearly 40 years in the field. Starting in 1983, he worked at Unilever for 22 years, holding various management, sales and marketing positions. He was the former managing director of Diageo India and also President Asia at Mondelez International (earlier Cadbury). He was also the chairman of the IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Over the past two decades, he has led companies to significant milestones. Unilever East Africa turned around from no growth and loss making to double-digit profitable growth. Cadbury India grew by almost 25% in his eight years at the company. He also transformed United Spirits(USL) into a respectable subsidiary under Diageo, post its acquisition.
Mr. Kripalu has also chaired the CII National FMCG committee from 2009 to 10. He has also taken on roles as a member of the Managing Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the chairman of CIABC (Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies).
Graduating with a Bachelor of Technology Degree from IIT Madras in Electronics in 1980, he pursued an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, from where he has received the distinguished alumni award. He has completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School. Currently, he is a member of the board of governors of IIM Jammu.
