Kumar Doraiswami is the Managing Partner at Angle Light Partners LP, a hedge fund that uses process driven methodologies to systematically identify and exploit dislocations in global stock, currency, commodity and fixed income markets. Prior to starting Angle Light, Kumar served as Managing Director and a Member of the Executive Management Committee at Natixis Capital Markets, where he was responsible for all client driven businesses in liquid markets and structured finance. And before Natixis, Kumar launched the capital markets businesses for Commerzbank and was a member of several management committees that set the overall strategic direction for the bank’s activities in the U.S. Kumar spent ten years in senior structuring and marketing roles at Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank, where he was variously recognized for bringing innovative thought processes and solutions to complex, cross product risk problems. Kumar began his finance career in 1989 at Salomon Brothers, where he did fixed income and derivatives research.
Kumar has an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania where he was the recipient of the IBM-Wharton Fellowship; an M.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Science from The University of Rochester where he was a University Fellow; and MOST IMPORTANTLY a B.Tech. (1983) in Mechanical Engineering from I.I.T. Madras. He is a fan of Indian contemporary/modern art and likes to spend most of his free time reading and reading some more…mostly fiction. He is also the proud spouse of an I.I.T., Delhi alum.
