IIT Madras along with GUVI rolls out programming courses

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras digital skills academy is launching courses in and advanced programming in partnership with IIT Madras-incubated ed-tech startup . The courses are designed to help final year engineering students and graduates with programming skills to make them work ready.

The course offers live online sessions using an artificial intelligence platform that provides students with coding and self-assessment environment for practising programming in real-time. The 120 hours of programming course will help professionals and students to obtain experiential learning equivalent to about three months of actual working experience in each of these courses and makes them job-ready, the IIT said in a statement.

A formal certificate will be issued by the trainer and the knowledge partner – the Centre for Continuing Education, IIT Madras on completion of the course(s).

“The objective is to provide graduating students from Indian academic institutions and employees in multiple industrial sectors the necessary skills towards employment or re-skilling in relevant sectors. These courses will also make them industry- and job-ready,” said Mangala Sunder, founder and coordinator, Digital Skills Academy, IIT Madras.

The Digital Skills Academy is a joint venture of IIT Madras with NASSCOM IT-IT Enabled Services Sector Skill Council of India.
