Anand Sivasubramaniam is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Penn State. He received his B.Tech from IIT Madras, and the MS and Ph.D. degrees, all in computer science, from Georgia Tech. He has been at Penn State since 1995, where he has spearheaded several research projects in high performance computing, energy-efficient computer systems design, sustainable data centers, and using computing for tackling sustainability issues on a broader scale including building energy management, renewable energy integration and efficient water distribution for utilities. He is also a R&D Consulting Advisor for Tata Consultancy Services on many of these topics. Apart from an NSF Career award, he has received 3 Google Research Awards, 3 IBM Faculty Awards, and a HP Innovation award. He is an IEEE Fellow and an ACM Distinguished Scientist.
