What is an alumni Email ID?
- An alumni ID is an email ID provided by ACR to all the 50k+ alumni of IIT Madras. It's the same as your smail ID but with no spam emails :)
Can I choose my own username?
- Every user has the flexibility to choose their own username. It will be allotted the same way as Gmail does. Your alumni Email ID will look something like this @alumni.iitm.ac.in
Why I am getting an Alumni Email account?
- We want all of our alumni to remain connected to our alma mater in an efficient way. You can make use of the IIT Madras tag forever. Moreover, it will facilitate co-alumni networking.
What are the perks of getting this ID?
Few of perks of getting an Alumni email ID are as follows:
- Facility to restore all your important emails and drive data from smail account
- All important communication related to Alumni Association and the benefits of being an IITM alumnus/alumnae will be communicated via this ID
- IIT Madras alumni email account can be used life-long
How and when will I get my alumni account?
- You can register for alumni account at this portal using your LDAP ID and password. The email account will be provided after convocation
Does this also support recovery Email ID?
- This alumni ID supports all the features of an ordinary Gmail account
Who handles these IDs?
- These email accounts are maintained by the Office of Alumni & Corporate Relations
